Karen has been providing clinical psychotherapy and counselling to individuals, couples and families with children, adolescents and adult children for twenty years. She has worked in private practice for some years prior to joining the Hopefield team in 2019. Of particular interest to Karen is trauma counselling and she has spent several years working specifically in that area. Karen has a special interest in couple counselling and is a trained facilitator of the Prepare Enrich pre marriage course. Karen is skilled in person-centred therapy and works from an attachment theory and family systems model and is committed to a professional and caring therapeutic experience for her clients.

Since 1993 she has been in pastoral ministry. While working for several years as the associate pastor of a community church in the south of Sydney, Karen was involved in leading teams to Northern Uganda to help establish a hospital, in working in Indonesia at a leper colony and with families living in shanty dwellings, and in leading a team caring and counselling families during drought in Western New South Wales.

Currently Karen is lecturing Masters level subjects at Morling College in the Counselling and Chaplaincy faculty.
